Prohibition 1920s
Not all the in the roaring twenties was a good time, their were some bad time. It was the time that alcohol was ban from coast to coast and was pour out of the barrel and into the streets and sewer to make alcohol “dry” from the United State.
What started the ban of alcohol was the 18th amendment in the constitution that have ban the used, sell, transport, or production of alcohol that had started in the early 1920’s. people was upset about the ban and they took it to the streets to protest.
There were a lot of loopholes during the prohibition that past through the police like smugglers(called rumrunners) that smuggle alcohol from Europe, the Caribbeans, and Canada to get alcohol. They even had “Rum Fleet” that carry a ship full of alcohol and deliver it at night because thats when the police go home. Some made their own alcohol to sell to others who are called “Moonshiners” They have special place to hide the rum so that if the police comes, they can put it up fast and take it out when their gone.
Some people became gangster to get the alcohol in their place to make money and use violence to mark their own territory and control the rum delivery that made some gangster famous like Al Capone who control all of Chicago’s streets.
